Retouching Varnishes

Still two trials at the same time — from the years 1988 and 1989, and on the same paper.

The acrylic varnish which contains no ketone resin does’t yellow at all. The ketone resine based varnish is the most yellowing of all of them. This demonstrates that, concerning yellowing, the acrylic resin is better than the ketonic one.

1988 — 8. R. varn. No.1:	A retouching varnish from manufacturer “ C ” . It contains synthetic resins (ketonic and acrylic resins).
1988 — 9. R. varn. No.2:	A retouching varnish from manufacturer “ A ” . It contains only a ketone resin (cyclohexanone).
1989 — 1. R. varn. No.3:	A retouching varnish from manufacturer “ C ” . It contains an acrylic resin but no ketonic one.
1989 — 1. R. varn. No.1:	The same retouching varnish as 1988 — 8, from manufacturer “ C ” , containing ketonic and acrylic resins.
